Pictorial Tour
Selected views of Temple Sinai since the completion of our 2003-2004 renovation.
Our facility was completely remodeled, rebuilt and renovated in May 2004 - August 2005. The lead architect was Claude Menders of Menders, Torrey & Spencer, Inc. (http://www.mendersarchitects.com/) The project was led and completed by partner David Torrey after Mr. Menders' death in 2003. We reoccupied the building on September 6, 2005.

This west elevation is the first view of the Temple that vistors get when coming up the driveway from Summit Ave. The original Todd Mansion with its portico entrance is very much in character with the neighborhood. The 1965 addition and new daily entrance are visible to the right.

The daily entrance on the north side of the building is welcoming and accessible to all.

The main Sanctuary on level two is reconfigurable with comfortable seating for 200, 300 or 700 depending on the need. The low, thrust Bimah is well lit with natural light and allows our clergy to participate as an intimate part of the congregation.

The gracefully curved billows of the ceiling and the large sculpted skylight is a dominating feature in the Sanctuary. This innovative, award-winning, design exemplifies the architectural theme of a welcoming and protective tent over our congregation and community. This theme is repeated in the Chapel and the Sanctuary Lobby.

The use of etched glass with Jewish images and themes on doors, windows and displays is a significant architectural feature.
