Choirs
For those who love to sing, learn Jewish music, meet other temple congregants, and have fun, Temple Sinai has two choirs: the adult choir and the intergenerational choir.
The adult choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:45-9:15 pm, and sings at some Shabbat services, joint services with the Summit Jewish Community Center, and an annual regional reform movement choral festival. The intergenerational choir rehearses on Sunday mornings, from 10:30-11:00 am, whenever religious school is in session, and sings at some Shabbat services and the annual Chanukah concert.
The "how to" of joining one of our choirs is simple. Just come to a rehearsal. You do not need to know how to read music or Hebrew. The musical notes are taught and reviewed during the rehearsal. If you are unable to commit to the entire choral calendar, you can just commit to a particular service or performance.
