T'NT Together
T'NT Together (Temple and Teens Together) offers 8th-12th graders the opportunity to engage in service to the congregation and in special community service projects to help those in need.
The TNT Board consists of individuals representing all grades 8-12. With the guidance of Claudia Minde and Rabbi Gershon, this group meets monthly to get out mailings for future events, make follow-up phone calls to all students enrolled in the High School, and helps organize the Temple and community service events. Students have participated in food banks, soup kitchens, cleaning up the arboretum, leading a mall scavenger hunt to buy various summer camp supplies for underprivileged teens, and organized lock-ins held at Temple Sinai.
The goal of TNT is to get more teens involved in community service, to help form bonds between Temple Sinai students, and to get Temple Sinai youth more involved in Regional NFTY events.

College Caravan, November 2005
By Jessie Blank

This year the College Caravan, headed by Rabbi Gershon, traveled to Washington, D.C., to visit Georgetown University, George Washington University, University of Maryland, and Johns Hopkins University. Even though this trip only lasted two nights, it will always be in my memory because it was so much fun. We stayed at Embassy Suites, which was a gorgeous hotel (with an indoor pool!) Temple Sinai's high-schoolers were able to catch an information session, a walking tour, and a stop at the bookstore of each college (props to Rabbi Gershon for planning everything so well!). We visited each university's Hillel and talked to Jewish students, which gave us a great opportunity to get a better feeling for each college. At the University of Maryland, we received a special tour from a former Temple Sinai High School student, which was really beneficial because we were able to hear an honest opinion about the university.
For those who were not involved in the college searching process, we went to many great restaurants, and, of course, we had some time for shopping in Georgetown. We also went to a comedy club to watch a hypnotist. Although we were unsuccessful in persuading the Rabbi to be hypnotized, the show was still the funniest thing I have ever seen. My friends and I agree that we have never laughed so hard in our lives. During this trip, I made so many new friends and became closer with my old ones. Next year, even though I will be a senior, I am still planning on going on the College Caravan, and I urge all of my fellow high-schoolers to go as well!
